Traditional Easter food

Sandy

If you celebrate Easter, what are some of the foods that you almost always have for your Easter meal? What is hard for you to say no to????

  Sandy Replied:

Ham, sweet potatoes, deviled eggs, tuna salad and cheesy potatoes

Our family serves ham, mashed potatoes, deviled eggs, cheesy potatoes, broccoli rice casserole and jello eggs (which are just jello jigglers in egg shape). At this point I have no problem saying no to any of it, it is all too rich and heavy for my taste these days.

I miss Hot Cross Buns that I used to get in the Midwest as a child. It's a heavy catholic influence near Milwaukee so Lent, fish fries, hot cross buns and easter celebrations & dinner were a part of every household that was Christian.
